WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A highly anticipated Mexi-Cajun seafood restaurant is now open in Waco, after gaining lots of attention for taking over the building that used to be Twin Peaks.

Just over 10 years ago on May 17th, a fight broke out between two rival biker gangs at the Twin Peaks , leaving nine dead and 20 injured.

Now it is Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp, having been completely transformed in hopes the building can finally move forward.

“This building, it doesn’t feel like the past,” said owner and operator Chris Cady, “it feels like something new and we’re really gonna show Waco that it’s an amazing place to come”.

He says when he began looking for where to put this restaurant, they realized this was the perfect spot.
