ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) - A South Carolina high school has apologized after a public address announcer’s “disrespectful comment” toward South Carolina State University during a football game on Friday.

Christ Church Episcopal School said the announcer remarked about SC State during Friday’s game against Riverside. Officials did not specifically state what the announcer said during Friday’s game, but noted they have been removed from future school events.

The comment also came a day before SC State’s football team played against South Carolina in Columbia.
