COLUMBIA — A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit from the state NAACP that challenged the constitutionality of a South Carolina budget provision barring public schools from teaching certain ideas about race.
U.S. District Judge Sherri A. Lydon’s Sept. 8 order found that the plaintiffs in the January lawsuit , who included an author and Columbia-area high school students and teachers, lacked proper standing to challenge the provision.
