LUBBOCK, Texas-- Texas Tech defensive back Amier Campbell Boyd-Matthews, 21, was arrested for reckless driving on Sunday morning, according to records obtained by EverythingLubbock.com.

This is Boyd's first year with the Red Raiders after transferring from UTEP, where he played three seasons. He recorded a solo tackle against Kent State and three tackles along with an interception against UAPB.

In a statement by head coach Joey McGuire in a press conference on Monday, he stated:

“It’s internal discipline action, we’ll handle it like we have any time in the past. We had a couple before, not many, but we’ll handle it inside.”

Boyd was in the Lubbock County Detention Center on Sunday and has since bonded
