A person shot by Phoenix police was hospitalized with injuries that were life-threatening, according to the department.A suspect was shot Sept. 8 by police in the area of 35th Avenue between Van Buren and Buckeye Road with no officers injured, according to social media posts from Phoenix police. Though police said the injuries were life-threatening, they did not specify what these injuries were or what led to the shooting.
The area was shut down as of the afternoon of Sept. 8, police said.
This incident was at least the 48th police shooting for 2025 in Arizona, as of Sept. 8. At least 35 of those were fatal.
