UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. — A Sevier County teacher was arrested after an altercation Friday night that occurred between the Unicoi County High School vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman High School football game at Gentry Stadium.

Brandon Cory Burns, 44, is a teacher and the parent of one of the GPHS football players. He has been charged with assault after initiating a fight and striking at least two people, according to the Unicoi County Sheriff's Office.

According to a report from UCSO, Burns crossed the football field and assaulted a UCHS fan. Another person tried to break up the fight, but was assaulted by Burns as well.

Then, a football player from GPHS grabbed Burns and attempted to pull him away from the fight, according to UCSO.
