OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. —
A bridge on I-85, which carries thousands of commuters between South Carolina and Georgia daily, is open again after being abruptly closed for a hole repair .
The South Carolina Department of Transportation was aware of the incident on Saturday and closed one lane of the bridge on Saturday and Sunday to conduct emergency repairs. This consisted of a full-depth deck patch with concrete to seal the foundation. Latest Forecast

Officials said there were two contractor crews, a department maintenance crew for lane closures and three department construction inspectors on site.
The hole, located in a lane on the northbound side, broke through the surface of the bridge to where those underneath could see light from
