‘Everything is complete’: Cat believed to have died in an apartment fire found alive 2 months later

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ( WSFA /Gray News) - A house cat in Alabama that was believed to have died in an apartment fire was found alive two months later.

The past two months have been filled with grief for Verandas at Taylor Oaks residents Dajanera Jones and Daniel Mobley.

They believed their cat, Moon, whom they loved enough to refer to as their son, died when flames engulfed their apartment building.

“I have just been going through so much grief and just regret, almost like survivor’s guilt of just surviving and knowing that I couldn’t get my son out,” Jones said.

A little over a week ago, a neighbor told Mobley that she believed she had spotted the orange and white cat on the property. After days of searching, Mobley got a call from that neighbor again.
