SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Voters in three Northwest Iowa school districts will head to the polls Tuesday, Sept. 9, to cast a ballot in special elections.

Galva-Holstein, Sibley-Ocheyedan, and Sheldon community school districts all have issues on the ballot.

The Special Election for Galva Holstein

In Galva-Holstein, the district is asking voters to renew a funding stream known as S.A.V.E., which stands for Secure an Advanced Vision for Education.

It is important to note that this is not a new tax, and voters are paying the same sales tax regardless.

This is just asking if the district can continue to use the statewide sales tax money to pay for school infrastructure, including things like building projects, remodels, and bus garages.
