SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - South Dakotans use art to spread messages of hope during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
From shopping malls to sidewalks and even squad cars, South Dakotans used art in September to spread one message: hope is here.
In support of 988 Day, the Helpline Center promoted the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline with signs, T-shirts, and the installation of seven-foot-tall statues across the state. The displays were set up in Sioux Falls, Vermillion, Brookings, and Rapid City.
Scott Wilson, director of 988 in South Dakota, said the art was designed to spark curiosity.
“I think art just inspires something in us internally, and it’s a great way to just get us to feel something, but also just to notice something out there,” said Wilson. “These installations
