BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Birmingham police officers believe surveillance video could help them make an arrest in the fatal shooting of 82-year-old Aldorithia Burrell on her front porch.
Police are spotlighting Connect Birmingham, the camera integration program that allows officers to access privately owned surveillance footage with residents’ permission. The program aims to enhance public safety and support crime-solving efforts.
The Birmingham Police Department urges more neighbors to sign up. City councilors recently approved the installation of 200 strategically placed cameras throughout the city. These new cameras, combined with those registered by residents through Connect Birmingham, will give officers more eyes across the community.
