The Los Angeles Chargers may have defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in their season opener last Friday, but they did not emerge unscathed.

Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman suffered an ankle injury in the win, and Ian Rapoport of NFL media has provided a rough update on the key defender.

High-ankle sprains are always tricky, so it would not be the least bit surprising if Los Angeles doesn't see Perryman back in the lineup or at least another month.

Injuries are nothing new for Perryman, who has a very checkered medical history. He missed six games last season, and since 2022, he has not appeared in more than 12 contests in any one individual campaign.
