ALLENSTOWN, N.H. —

The fourth and final victim of a notorious homicide case known as the Bear Brook murders in Allenstown, New Hampshire, was identified through the use of DNA and historical records spanning hundreds of years.

Investigators said Rea Rasmussen was born in California in 1976 and believe that she was killed in the late 1970s or early 1980s.

Rea was one of four people whose bodies were found in metal barrels in Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire, which is outside of Concord.

The first barrel was discovered in 1985, and the second was found in 2000.

Prosecutors said the victims' killer is Terry Rasmussen, who also went by Bob Evans. Genealogy tests now show he was the father of Rea Rasmussen.
