LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) - Devin Windham was sentenced to 18 years for a 2024 drive-by shooting in Ellisville.

Windham went before Judge Dal Williamson on Friday to receive his sentencing.

Investigator Kyle Pickett said the shooting took place just before 9 p.m. on May 26, 2024, at the Keith’s Superstore in Ellisville.

Officers said Windham targeted a man at a gas pump as he drove off with a group of people. He shot the gun from the passenger seat.

Windham fired several rounds with bullets, shattering the gas station’s window and door.

“There’s too many people that are out here that are using guns for the solution for a temporary problem, but guns are actually a permanent solution,” said Pickett.
