BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — A crash and heavy police response have closed lanes on Interstate 81 northbound in Bristol, Virginia Monday night.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) traffic map, the incident took place at around 8 p.m. Monday on I-81 north near Exit 1.

VDOT reported that numerous lanes are closed as a result of the crash.
