The Philadelphia Eagles have added even more intriguing depth to their offense by trading for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby, per multiple reports.
The Eagles sent a handful of draft picks to Jacksonville for Bigsby, who will now provide a new option to spell running back Saquon Barkley and possibly contribute on special teams as a returner.

As for Jacksonville, this cements the team's confidence in Travis Etienne, LeQuint Allen and rookie Bhayshul Tuten to carry the load in the Jaguars backfield for the rushing game.
Who came out ahead in this early season trade? Let's break it all down between the Eagles and Jaguars.
Trade details
Eagles get: RB Tank Bigsby
Jaguars get: 2026 fifth and sixth round picks
Eagles grade
The Eagles reportedly traded for Bigsby in part because of his kick returning duties, as running back Will Shipley's ribs injury reportedly didn't factor into the trade decision. Bigsby rushed for 766 yards and seven touchdowns last year; he's clearly not just a kick returner. For the Eagles to really get the value out of this trade for what it cost them, Bigsby should get a decent amount of carries behind Barkley in the Philly rushing attack. He's too talented to sit low on the depth chart, as the Eagles could have addressed the return game without giving up two 2026 draft picks. If Bigsby factors into the future as a meaningful cog in the Eagles offense, we get a Super Bowl contender with a good roster pushing in the chips. If this really is just a special teams play, we're a bit more confused.
Grade: B
Jaguars grade
Trading away Bigsby means the Jaguars really do have belief in Etienne, Allen and Tuten to carry the run game. Getting two 2026 picks back for Bigsby is solid work for Jacksonville general manager James Gladstone, even if trading away a good player this early in the season with Howie Rosmean of all people is always a dicey proposition. Bigsby was drafted by a different regime, so we get that the new folks in town may have other plans for the run game. However, the Jaguars will need their faith in the running back group as it stands to come through for this trade to make sense for 2025. The compensation is really nice, but the talent lost can't be ignored.
