LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A firefighter has died while responding to the Dragon Bravo Fire in northern Arizona, officials said.

According to a press release from an incident management team, the firefighter was actively involved in suppression repair when he suffered a cardiac emergency near the North Rim Entrance Station near Grand Canyon.

Medical arrived by said resuscitation efforts were not successful. Officials did not name him in the press release.

“Our hearts go out to his family and friends. The wildland fire community is inherently interagency, and a line of duty death impacts us all,” officials said. “We deeply appreciate this firefighter’s dedication to his profession and to the communities threatened by wildland fire.”
