The city of San Diego will temporarily restrict a portion of Via de la Valle near the Del Mar Fairgrounds beginning Monday evening for a road improvement project.
According to the city, asphalt overlay work will take place 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday nights, continuing through 5 a.m. the following morning, in an area immediately east of San Andres Drive to immediately east of the intersection of Jimmy Durante Boulevard and Valley Avenue.
“This segment of work includes improvements to more than 1.8 lane miles,” according to the city.
The city will coordinate with Caltrans on ramp closures from Via de la Valle to northbound and southbound Interstate 5.
The northbound and southbound on-ramps to I-5 from westbound Via de la Valle will be closed Monday night, according to the city.
