VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) -- School was canceled for Evergreen Public Schools students in Washington for Tuesday, Sept. 9 as a strike between classified staff and the district continues.

Last week, the district announced it was taking legal action to try and end the strike, and confirmed on Monday it filed an injunction for a request to have a judge order classified staff and teachers to get back into the classroom.

The strike is now in its third week, although the start of school was delayed a week.

More than 1,400 classified workers, including bus drivers, paraeducators and custodians, were on the picket lines again on Monday outside of the Evergreen Public Schools district office. Teachers are also supporting them by not working as well.
