(NewsNation) — Laken Snelling, a former University of Kentucky cheerleader who was arrested and charged with the abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant, has dropped out of college.
Snelling was arrested Aug. 31 after police responded to a call about an unresponsive infant on Aug. 27, according to a Lexington Police Department press release.
She has since been released from jail after posting a $100,000 bond. According to local NewsNation affiliate WDKY, Snelling was placed on house arrest with an ankle monitor.
A University of Kentucky spokesperson told NewsNation that "we are only able to confirm that she has withdrawn at this time."
When police interviewed Snelling, she admitted to giving birth to a baby boy and concealing him “by cl
