SACRAMENTO, Calif. - While Texas and Missouri players claimed the nearly $2 billion Powerball jackpot on Saturday night, Californians still have plenty to celebrate.

The California Lottery's 40th anniversary year brought joy to the state, with two lucky tickets and a major financial boost for public education.

Two California tickets matched the first five Powerball numbers, each winning more than $1.56 million. One ticket was bought at Circle K on Amador Valley Boulevard in Dublin, and the other at Love's Travel Stop in Tehachapi.

The California Lottery raised more than $135 million for public education from Powerball sales during the jackpot's growth.
