NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - When the Trump administration and Gov. Jeff Landry recently announced the opening of “Louisiana Lockup” at Angola, they emphasized who would be held at one of the newest ICE detention centers in the U.S.

“This facility will hold the most dangerous of criminals that have been out there harming individuals in this country,” said U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

In the days following last week’s announcement, DHS released photos and brief records of the 51 ICE detainees being housed at Angola. The crimes range from murder to sexual exploitation of a minor, and the countries of origin range from El Salvador to Sudan.
