REACH and its regional coalition partners have been awarded $9.5 million from the State of California to launch Space Vandenberg, a sweeping initiative to strengthen the Central Coast’s leadership in the global space economy while driving job creation, innovation and infrastructure development.
“This is a catalytic investment in the future of our region,” said Melissa James, president and CEO of REACH. “It builds on years of partnership and successes, and positions the Central Coast at the heart of California’s space strategy — one that uplifts communities, accelerates innovation, and creates real opportunity for people across our region.”
The funding, part of the state’s Jobs First program, represents the largest grant REACH has ever received. It comes as one of four project clusters a
