TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson Unified School District implemented a new crisis alert system this school year in partnership with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
The technology, created by Centegix, equips all district faculty with a panic button worn around their neck. In the case of an emergency, they can press the button several times, quickly alerting school administrators and law enforcement.
That information is also sent to the county’s 911 Dispatch Center, which is able to see the name of the individual who pressed the button, where they’re located in the building, and what type of emergency it is.
