A text between an Odessa man and his lady barber led to the arrest of the man’s wife on an aggravated assault charge, according to the Odessa Police Department.

Odessa officers were dispatched to a home in the 2400 block of West 12th Street around 1 am. Sunday.

According to an OPD report, when police arrived, they found a 41-year-old man sitting outside with a ripped shirt and scratch marks across his chest.

The man told the officers he and his wife, Julia Hernandez Zavala, 40, had been drinking and things got out of hand, the report stated.

The couple’s 19-year-old daughter told the officers she was looking through photos on her father’s phone when her mother saw texts between her father and his barber, the report stated.
