SOLON, Ohio — Roxbury Elementary School in Solon will be closed through Friday, Sept. 12, while district officials conduct additional environmental testing following conflicting asbestos test results.
In a letter to families, superintendent Fred Bolden and Roxbury Principal Mariann Moeschberger said the district received results over the weekend from testing conducted throughout the building. One classroom sample initially showed an elevated level of asbestos. However, expedited testing of the same area later returned negative results, consistent with the school’s routine asbestos monitoring required by law.
Because of the conflicting results, Solon City Schools said it has hired an independent, third-party lab to conduct further testing. The building was initially set to be closed thr
