WARREN Officials with the Warren Fire Department met in the City of Warren Council Chambers on Monday to swear in the department's newest firefighter.

According to a notice highlighting the event, the swearing-in ceremony took place at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located at 141 South Street SE in Warren.

Robert Gessler was officially sworn in during the ceremony.

According to officials in the department, Gessler passed his exams with flying colors, and they are excited to bring him on board.

Gessler spoke with 21 News at the swearing-in, saying how he has always wanted to help people.

"Ever since I was young, I've always wanted to try and help other people out. I knew that my job, no matter what it was, was going to be around helping people out," said Gessler.
