WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The West Springfield Police Department is warning residents about a scheme targeting homeowners.

According to police, solicitors with the company 'Transient Driveway Sealing and Repair' are going to homes and offering their services.

However, police say they are not legitimate contractors, and the work they provide is often substandard and incomplete. Residents are urged to turn away anyone offering driveway services and to contact the police immediately.

Any company soliciting in West Springfield is required to register with the police department first.
