PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Sauk Prairie School District received a $41,000 grant to support mental health initiatives.
The unrestricted, multi-year grant was presented by the WEA Member Benefits Foundation, which cited Sauk Prairie's "unique approach to student mental health" as a key factor in the award.
"We're positioning the school district as the youth mental health hub of the larger community, which is very important," said Steve Goldberg, executive director of the WEA Member Benefits Foundation.
The foundation said it chose Sauk Prairie because the district takes student mental health seriously and addresses it strategically, both in and out of school.
