Hasheam Tayeh, 34, appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

The former boss of Burgertory is charged by Victoria Police with four counts of using insulting words in a public place during rallies in March and May 2024, including on the Flinders Street station steps.

He reportedly stated "all Zionists are terrorists" among other comments at the rallies.

Tayeh's lawyer said he had contacted state and commonwealth attorneys-general to give them notice of plans to raise a constitutional issu
