TEMPLE, Texas — The much-anticipated Tanglefoot Music & BBQ Festival is set to take over downtown Temple Sept. 12–13, bringing live music, Texas barbecue and thousands of visitors to the city.

For city officials, the festival marks one of the largest events Temple has hosted.

“We haven’t really had anything of this magnitude before, so we are very excited,” said Megan Price, public relations coordinator for the City of Temple. “We’ve been preparing for a long time, and we can’t believe it’s finally here.”

The festival, funded through the city’s hotel occupancy tax, is designed to draw visitors from across Texas, including larger markets like Austin, Dallas and Houston. Price said the city hopes the event not only fills hotel rooms but also drives long-term growth for local business
