HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KAKE) — Heavy rain forced major changes at the Kansas State Fair Monday, closing on-grounds parking, canceling events, and leaving vendors and families dealing with flooding and mud.

All on-ground parking lots will remain closed for the next 48 hours, officials said, except for handicapped parking near Gate 5 on State Fair Road. Shuttle buses are running about every 15 minutes from the Hutchinson Sports Arena to the fairgrounds at Gate 9 on Plum Street. The Will Call office at Lot C remains open and accessible.
