MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man in Madera was arrested after deputies say he was caught trying to break into a truck.
Police say they received a call that the man had shattered the passenger side window of a parked pickup in the area of S. Madera and E. Pecan avenues.
The man, later identified as 41-year-old Arturo Rosas, fled the area by the time officers arrived, but thanks to the observant caller, police were quickly able to locate him.
Rosas was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail for vehicle burglary and attempted vehicle theft.
During the investigation, deputies discovered that he had damaged the steering column and ignition in an attempt to steal the truck.
