Inside Safe meeting shut down

Highland Park: A meeting last week to discuss a homeless encampment was halted by protestors complaining about a shelter program. The Tuesday night meeting at the Arroyo Seco Library was set up by Mayor Karen Bass' office to report on an Inside Safe operation last June , when more than 45 people at an encampment at Marmion Way and Avenue 57 were reportedly housed. Protestors interrupted the meeting, complaining about the Inside Safe program, according to Darren Gold, who attended the meeting. It is not clear who organized the protest group.
