HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police say more arrests are expected following a shooting in Nanakuli Saturday that injured two people.

One of the victims, a 17-year-old boy, was pronounced brain dead on Monday.

Officers responded to Zablan Beach at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday after reports of multiple gunshots.

In a press conference Monday, Lt. Deena Thoemmes of the Criminal Investigation Division Homicide Detail said witnesses reported a dark-colored sedan pulled up next to a white sedan in the parking lot.

“Witnesses further reported that at least one occupant from each vehicle exchanged gunfire before both vehicles fled the area,” Thoemmes said.

First responders later found the boy lying in the road on Pohakunui Avenue with a gunshot wound and took him to the Queen’s Medical Center.
