BARAGA COUNTY — A teen aged hiker escaped serious injury and was taken out of the woods of Baraga County by rescue workers Saturday. According a spokesperson from Bay Ambulance, the 19 year old female hiker suffered a knee injury after tripping at Canyon Falls. The incident occurred just past the main waterfall on Saturday afternoon.
The L’Anse Fire Department used their ARGO amphibious all-terrain vehicle to retrieve the woman from the woods. She was transported by Bay Ambulance to Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
According to Bay Ambulance Director Gary Wadaga she was in very stable condition, treated in the ER and did not need to be transferred to Marquette.
