SAN DIEGO — The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) San Diego Field Office has announced a brief halt to northbound traffic operations at several land ports of entry on Wednesday, September 11, 2025, to observe the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The moment of silence will begin at 5:46 a.m., the exact time the first plane struck the World Trade Center in New York.

The temporary pause will affect the San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Tecate, and Calexico West ports of entry.

CBP officials advise travelers to plan accordingly and remain patient during the temporary operation pause. The moment of silence is dedicated to honoring those who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Normal traffic operations will resume immediately following the brief ceremony.
