More amendments are being made to the county’s Official Plan.

At Wednesday’s council meeting, the amendments were outlined by Planning Manager Denise Van Amersfoort.

The changes include stronger direction for agricultural systems approach and the need for agricultural impact assessments, further support for different forms and types of housing, enhanced requirements for early consultations with Indigenous Nations, and an update policy framework for energy-related infrastructure.

The proposed changes considered the most important for the county’s future sustainability included affordable housing, natural environment, and support for vulnerable communities.
