Imagine living in Savannah and never seeing the oranges, pinks and purples that paint the sunset over the marshes. Imagine walking through Forsyth Park without noticing the brilliant greens or breathing in the intoxicating scent of jasmine and magnolia in spring. That is the world of "The Giver," Lois Lowry’s classic novel , brought to the stage this fall by Savannah Stage Company in an evocative, sensory-rich production.
The professional theater company will present the show at the historic Tybee Post Theater from Sept. 13-Sept. 14, before embarking on its most ambitious school tour yet. The initiative will bring "The Giver" to classrooms across Georgia through February 2026, culminating in special performances for Georgia Day.
