A new bereavement centre being built near Mepal has officially been named. Lake View, set to open next summer, currently has contractor Kier working to create its crematorium and natural burial area overlooking the lake.

The community facility aims to provide care in a beautiful setting, so families can remember, mourn, and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

The council is liaising with The Wildlife Trust to ensure endangered plants and animals, which have moved in since the site was last used and now restrict its potential for development, are protected. It is also working to build new habitats to bring in other native wildlife.
