Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered Palestinians in Gaza City to evacuate hours before Israel says it will be ramping up its airstrikes – but residents have “nowhere to go”.
On Monday, the Israeli prime minister said: “I say to the residents of Gaza, I take this opportunity and listen to me carefully: You have been warned – leave now.”
Israel also dropped leaflets advising people to evacuate from Gaza’s largest city to what the IDF (Israeli Defence Force) calls a humanitarian zone in the south.
That means as many as a million people will have to leave – but the UN has warned that nowhere in the Palestinian territory is safe right now.
