Hawthorn defender Tom Barrass says the Hawks are a “very similar” list to his 2018 West Coast side that soared to the premiership.

Barrass crossed from the Eagles to the Hawks last year and has played a crucial role in Hawthorn’s back six alongside fellow recruit Josh Battle and captain James Sicily.

Those three will have their hands full again on Friday night as they navigate Adelaide’s three-pronged forward line in the semi-final.

Barrass says the 2025 Hawks share resemblances to the all-conquering Eagles of 2018.

“You look around at this time of the year and every single player on field is a genuinely good player,” Barrass said.

“And there’s probably two or three who aren’t on the field who could be on there.
