Tributes have been paid to a 21-year-old who died in a crash on the A98 in Aberdeenshire .

Kirsty Shankland, from Dingwall , has been named locally as the woman who passed away in the collision southwest of Banff at around 7.15pm on Wednesday, September 3.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-car crash involving a blue Honda Civic and a grey BMW X5, but tragically she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her devastated friends and family have now taken to social media to pay tribute, with a fundraiser launched to help support Kirsty's family, cover the funeral costs and give her a "beautiful send off", reports the Daily Record .
