HENDERSON, Ky. — U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy joined federal and state leaders Monday to tour the I-69 Ohio River Crossing Project, a bi-state initiative to build a new four-lane bridge linking Henderson, Kentucky, with Evansville, Indiana, as part of the Interstate 69 corridor.
The visit, which included an aerial tour of construction sites in Henderson and nearby Evansville, underscored the project's significance for regional and national connectivity.
The $1.5 billion project, led by the Indiana Department of Transportation and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, aims to alleviate congestion on the aging U.S. 41 Bi-State Vietnam Gold Star Twin Bridges, built in 1932 and 1965, and complete a vital north-south freight route from Mexico to Canada.
Duffy emphasized the bridge’s a
