A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that 49% opt for crime documentaries or real-life stories as their pre-bedtime viewing. For a surprising 15%, such programmes even serve as an effective sleep aid.
Meanwhile, 44% of viewers claimed that watching helps them escape their worries, though 20% confessed to having nightmares after indulging in true crime. For 37%, the allure lies in the captivating nature of the programmes, while 27% relish the chance to learn.
