The funeral of former Hibs chairman Rod Petrie took place yesterday, Monday 8 September 2025.

Hibs fans said a final farewell to the former Scottish FA president who died last month at the age of 69, as the cortege passed Easter Road before a service in his memory at Mansfield Traquair.

He died on August 21 “after a long struggle against cancer”.

During his time at Easter Road Hibs won their first Scottish Cup in 114 years and also the League Cup.

The club also redeveloped Easter Road stadium and built a new training complex in East Lothian.

Sharing images from the moment online, the club wrote: “Honouring Rod Petrie at Easter Road Stadium this morning.”

Among those attending were Hibs head coach David Gray, captain Joe Newell and club ambassador Pat Stanton.
