A father has tragically collapsed and died during the funeral of his son. Norman White, aged 61, from Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, was attending the service for his son, David Beilicki, at St Bede's Chapel in Teesside Crematorium when he is believed to have suffered a massive heart attack. The incident occurred as David's coffin was being carried into the chapel.

David, aged 41, had been found dead on a relative's sofa after a prolonged struggle with addiction. His death occurred exactly ten years after a memorial service for his stillborn twin sons. At the time of his passing, David's sister, Chantelle, stated that he had been making significant progress in his recovery and had been clean from drugs.

Chantelle described the series of events leading to their father's death as reminiscent of a tragic film. "It has been so traumatic, you wouldn't ever think of anything like this happening, you couldn't write it," she said.

The funeral for David took place on August 21, following his death on July 31. Chantelle recounted the moment she realised her father was missing, saying, "When we got into the chapel and sat down, I looked around and said 'where's my dad?'" She was then informed that Norman had collapsed, prompting her to rush outside.

An investigation into David's death is currently ongoing.
