This week's Battle for Bloomington could be a battle between backup quarterbacks.

Too early to say for sure but both North and South played without their usual starters, John Bargen for the Cougars and Duncan Combs for the Panthers, when they traveled to Terre Haute last week.

South had the luxury of leaning on its powerhouse running tandem for seven touchdowns to bury TH North, 49-13. South ran for 298 yards on 37 carries to make things easy on QB Jonathan Winstead, who has been seeing the field plenty as a receiver.

The Panthers built up a 42-7 halftime lead and used a running clock to get done early. Braylen Townsend romped for 144 yards and five TDs on just 13 attempts while Shaun Cooper hit the century mark again with 114 and two scores and just 11 carries.
