SOUTHBURY, CT (WFSB) - A tractor trailer fire on Interstate 84 in Southbury was extinguished by firefighters on Monday night.

The Southbury Fire Department said it responded to I-84 westbound just before exit 14 a little before 6 p.m.

It said the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

The cab had been successfully removed beforehand by the driver.

A tanker from Sandy Hook was called in for additional support due to the heavy content load.

There was no word on what started the fire.

No injuries were reported.
