A woman suffered smoke inhalation and at least one other woman was displaced during an apartment fire overnight in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, police and firefighters responded to a call of a fire at an apartment complex in the 300 block of East 68th Street. Chicago firefighters put out the fire, but one woman was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital with smoke inhalation.
Officials said another woman was displaced due to the fire.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
